Fishbone/ Adrenalin O.D. – May 1, 1987

Dave Scott (Adrenalin O.D., drummer): Fishbone was a legendary show for us because [Adrenalin O.D. guitarist] Bruce Wingate decided to go to Maxwell’s in Hoboken to see Redd Kross instead. After waiting hours for him, we enlisted our friend Jim McMonagle from F.O.D. to wear an unplugged bass guitar and jump around the stage in an amazing show of air guitar fury. This was one of our funnier moments. People in the crowd had no idea he wasn’t plugged in, nor did they know he wasn’t a band member. At the end of the set I stood up on my drum stool for the big rock and roll ending, and accidentally fell into my drum set. It was a true America’s Funniest Videos moment.

Bruce Wingate (Adrenalin O.D. guitarist): I didn’t actually miss the show on purpose, but saying I did makes a better story, so that’s the one I tell.
