A DiWulf Update from Amy & Steve

A DiWulf Update from Amy & Steve

Hello, friends!

Amy & Steve here with a quick update on the goings-on and various shenanigans that regularly occur here at DiWulf. But first, here's a cat!

Now that we've gotten that out of the way....

We've had an exciting winter and spring, with a couple of fantastic book events happening from DC to Philly to New York that brought out a lot of friends. The only thing as cool as seeing old friends is making new ones!

We started off 2026 (AKA The Howard Wuelfing 'Zine Tour) at an excellent bookshop just outside of Washington, DC in Takoma Park, MD. It was called People's Book and everyone there treated us like family. We were joined by old friends  Bob Boilen, Kim Kane, and Ian MacKaye

Howard also visited the DC Library's MLK Branch to give a talk about his anthology "Descenes and Discords" and the evolution of DC's punk scene from the late '70s and early '80s. He was joined by Mark Jenkins and John R. Davis

In April, Amy and Steve visited Moore Books in Havertown, PA to talk about their book, No Slam Dancing, No Stage Diving, No Spikes: An Oral History of the Legendary City Gardens

Amy and Steve were joined by photographer Marla Watson, who will soon be doing a book with DiWulf!

May kicked off with a trip to Generation Records in NYC, where Howard took part in an all-star panel of authors that included Mike Bullshit, and Shawna Kenney & Rich Dolinger and was hosted by Drew Stone. Everybody had a fantastic time!

Time for another cat!

Spring has been a lot of fun so far, and it looks like the summer is shaping up to be killer, too! We've got Mike Magrann of CH3 returning with his second book, "Tin Knocker" which is about the band in the years after hardcore - to hilarious results.

AND we also have the new graphic novel about DC's Gray Matter just about done and ready to go.

And we will be debuting our new photography series, "Only One Night" this summer. The premise is very simple: one photographer, one show, one night. Minimal text. The first volume will be Black Flag by Robert Lindsay. And - here's a secret we've been sitting on for a while now: WE WILL BE PUBLISHING THE FIRST EVER KEN SALERNO PHOTO BOOK AS PART OF THIS SERIES!!!!

CAT TIME!

Well, that pretty much covers it for now. If you're in the Arlington/DC area, come check out Howard Wuelfing at the Courthouse Branch of the Arlington Library on Saturday, May 16th. See you soon!
